Dictionaries are your friends!

Let´s take, for example, the definition for Regime, last post.

First, work with definitions, and more definitions!

Regime

When you go to the dictionary and look up a word, you have to check PRONUNCIATION /ridgim/

Longman dictionary gives us spoken examples. They're great to check FLUENCY. Listen to the sentences and repeat them afterwards.
The regime got rid of most of its opponents.

Extract expressions and look up their meaning - What does get rid mean?

Finally, don't forget the context of the word you're studying. The example mentions the Nazi regime. What was that? You can search at http://www.en.wikipedia.org/ and you'll find more info about it and a chance to improve your knowledge on the subject and your vocabulary!

Next, I'll show everything we discussed here with a mind map. Don't forget: dictionary's a student best friend!

See you!!!
